Fix a drawing problem before starting over

Work through a fill spill, distorted picture, committed text or blocked paste while protecting the version you want to keep.

The fill covers more than intended

Undo the fill first. Zoom in around the boundary and look for a small opening between the inside and outside regions. Close the opening and try filling again. A narrow gap can be difficult to see at the drawing's normal size.

For a clean flat shape, the shape tool's Outline and fill option may be easier than drawing a freehand boundary and filling it afterward. Keep labels and other details outside the area until the filled shape looks right.

The picture looks stretched or unexpectedly clipped

Check whether the horizontal and vertical percentages in Stretch/Skew were different. Equal percentages preserve proportions when the result stays within the canvas limits. If one axis is capped at 4096 pixels while the other is not, the proportions can still change.

An oversized imported image is also capped independently on each axis in the current editor. Resize a copy proportionally before opening it. If the problem is missing edge content instead, check whether Attributes or a canvas handle reduced the drawing area: canvas resizing trims or adds space without scaling the original strokes.

Applied text is no longer editable as text

Once text is applied, it becomes pixels in the picture. Use Undo while that change is still available, then enter the revised wording. Selecting those pixels afterward does not turn them back into a text box.

For a long annotation, keep the wording in a separate note. That makes it easier to reapply the label after a placement mistake, and it gives you a place to correct spelling before committing the text.

Copy or paste appears to do nothing

Click the page and try the menu action again, responding to any browser permission request. Image clipboard access varies by browser and may be unavailable even though ordinary drawing works.

Copying within the editor and copying to the operating system's clipboard are not always the same operation when permission is blocked. The editor keeps an internal selection copy as a fallback. If pasting an outside image remains unavailable, save it locally and use File > Open instead. Save the current drawing first, because opening an image replaces the active picture and starts a new undo history.

Undo stops sooner than expected

The editor keeps a limited set of image snapshots during the active session. Larger canvases allow fewer retained snapshots. Treat Undo as a short editing history, not a backup or a recovery service after closing the browser.

Save separate downloads before a major transformation or before opening another image. Rename them on your device so you can identify the stage you want to recover. There is no promise that an unsaved picture can be restored after a reload.

The saved picture is smaller than it looked on screen

Zoom changes the editing view rather than the exported dimensions. Check Image > Attributes for the actual width and height. Review the download at 100% before sending it to someone else.

If the source was already small, enlarging its pixels cannot restore detail that was never present. Use a higher-resolution source when the task requires sharper text or a larger printed result.
